Cognitivists believe that moral truths are real and, therefore, can be known. Words like ‘good’, ‘bad’, ‘right’, ‘wrong’, ‘duty’, etc. are talking about real properties that exist ‘out there’ independently of us. Moral claims are true, objective, statements about facts.
